Can’t you buy insurance through the mover? I thought they offered this if you didn’t have proof of your insurance? Otherwise maybe you could get insurance and then call and either cancel it or have them put it on hold (tell them the car is broke down). Or maybe getting storage insurance is enough?

No, but you can have it towed or put it up on a trailer and move it that way without worrying about insurance. But once you move it where ever you are going, what then? If it’s parked on the road it has to be licensed and insured. Even if you have it in an enclosed garage, what if the garage burns down? Why not insure it and be done with it?

You can get insurance for any amount of time you want, just call up an insurance company and ask. It may cost more, as they have to do more ‘paper wrk’
